Recognition under the Armed Forces Covenant for the firm’s support of the Armed Forces community.
Westminster Security has been awarded the Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award under the Armed Forces Covenant, the highest of the scheme’s three tiers, above Bronze and Silver.
The scheme is administered by Defence Relationship Management on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, through the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Associations. It recognises employers who support the Armed Forces community: Reservists, Veterans, Cadet Force adult volunteers, and the families of those who serve; and align their practice with the Covenant.
The Gold Award follows a Silver Award in 2024 and continues a commitment that began in 2015, when Westminster Security became the first private security company to sign the Armed Forces Covenant.
Gold is held only by organisations that already hold Silver and have held it long enough to put the supporting policy and evidence in place. The criteria are specific:
Silver and Gold awards are renewed every five years.
Much of what close protection demands is first learned in military service: discipline, judgement under pressure, the habit of preparation, and composure when a situation changes without warning. A large part of the Westminster Security team comes from that background.
Support for the Armed Forces community is not a separate initiative. The policies the award recognises follow from where much of this work begins.
The award will be marked at a ceremony on the evening of Thursday, 8 October 2026.
Westminster Security thanks Defence Relationship Management and the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Associations for the recognition.
